Increased police presence in South Bruce Peninsula

A suspect believed to be involved in a series of break-and-enters in South Bruce Peninsula is actively being searched for.

On Tuesday at around 2 p.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible break-and-enter in progress at a residence on Howdenvale Road, east of Huron Road.

Upon arrival, police found multiple residences in the area had also been broken into. Police brought in the OPP aviation and canine units, as well as the emergency response team (ERT).

During the search, police recovered a pickup truck that had been reported stolen from Wiarton earlier that day.

Police say if you see the person in the photo to not approach or engage him. Call 911 immediately to report the sighting.

The Grey Bruce OPP asks residents and business owners in the area to review any video surveillance footage from Tuesday afternoon and evening for suspicious activity or individuals.
