$2.1 million invested in downtown Windsor health and social services

$2.1 million has been invested into downtown Windsor’s health and social services.

The money will help improve primary care for residents via a partnership between Windsor-Essex Community Health Centre, Canadian Mental Health Association Windsor-Essex County Branch (CMHA-WECB), and Essex County Nurse Practitioner-led Clinic.

“This investment represents a critical step forward, in alignment with the Primary Care Act, 2025, to build a high-performing primary care system that is connected, convenient, inclusive, empowered, and responsive,” said Nicole Sbrocca, CEO of CMHA-WECB.

“By working together, we are strengthening a primary care and health ecosystem that meets people where they are, prioritizes prevention, and connects individuals to timely care in the most appropriate setting.”

The focus will be on priority neighbourhoods and people experiencing poverty, housing instability, food insecurity, and barriers to primary care.
