Man faces impaired driving charges following collision on Hwy. 15

Ontario Provincial Police say a man is facing multiple charges, including impaired driving, following a two-vehicle collision in Leeds and Grenville on Thursday morning.

According to a statement on social media from OPP, shortly after 5 a.m., officers responded to reports of a collision on Highway 15 near Briton-Houghton Bay Road, which is approximately 20 kilometres southwest of Smiths Falls.

Four occupants were involved in the collision. Two of the occupants sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and one of them was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Police say a 31-year-old man from Lombardy, Ont. is facing multiple charges, including operation while impaired causing bodily harm, dangerous operation and failure to comply with a release order. The man received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension.

The man was released from custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville in May.
