Former Brockville Library CEO accused of charging $21K of personal expenses on corporate credit card

The former head of the Brockville Public Library is facing fraud charges over allegedly misusing a corporate credit card for personal purchases, according to police.

Brockville Police launched an investigation last June into suspected fraudulent financial activity involving the municipal library.

“The concerns were initially identified in December 2024 and led to an internal review of the library’s finances,” police said in a media release. “As a result of that review, police assistance was requested.”

Police say the investigation determined the former library CEO used the corporate credit card for more than $21,000 in personal expenditures.

Geraldine Slark was charged on Monday with fraud over $5,000 and breach of trust. Police say she will appear in court at a later date.

Slark was not listed as the CEO of the Brockville Public Library in the 2025 Brockville Public Library Board meeting agendas.
