Second man charged in connection with fatal assault in Ogden

The victim of an assault in the Calgary community of Ogden died Saturday, police said.

A second man has been charged in connection with a fatal assault that took place in the southeast Calgary community of Ogden last month.

On March 25, Calgary police were called to a home in the 2300 block of Crestwood Road S.E. for reports of a physical altercation.

Police say officers arrived on the scene to find a man in his 20s suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The man, who was later identified as 28-year-old Dor Thor Metkurjock. was taken to hospital where he later died.

In mid-April, police charged Wedial Boum Met, 22, with one count of second-degree murder.

Saturday, they announced that Tethloach Wawu, 24, was also charged with one count of second-degree murder.

Wawu, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder, was arrested by RCMP officers in Langley, B.C., after attempting to flee.

He will appear in court Monday, April 27.
