2 cars badly damaged after colliding in New Glasgow, N.S.

A collision that badly damaged two cars in New Glasgow, N.S., Tuesday afternoon is under investigation.

Police, fire and ambulance crews responded to the scene at the intersection of Abercrombie Road and Elm Street around 2:30 p.m.

The crash reportedly involved a Chevrolet Trailblazer that was travelling eastbound on Elm Street and a Hyundai Tucson travelling southbound on Abercrombie Road.

Photos shared by New Glasgow Regional Police show the Hyundai with bad front-end damage and the Tucson on its side with its windshield hanging out.

Both vehicles had to be towed away.

Police say there were no passengers inside the cars and neither driver reported life-threatening injuries.

Abercrombie Road was closed in both directions for more than an hour following the crash.
