The NHL playoffs are still a couple weeks away, but the Winnipeg Whiteout will blow into town next week.
True North Sports and Entertainment announced the official kickoff is set for April 8 from True North Square’s plaza. Details about the Whiteout Street Parties will be announced during the kickoff.
Fans who attend on Tuesday can purchase Whiteout gear from the Jets Gear trailer, enjoy music, and receive giveaways from the promo team.
Festivities will get underway at 11:30 a.m.
Mayor Scott Gillingham, Premier Wab Kinew, and Kevin Donnelly, the senior vice president of venues and entertainment for True North, are all set to speak.
The Winnipeg Jets are currently the top team in the NHL with 108 points. They have secured a spot in the playoffs – the seventh time in eight season – but their opponent hasn’t been decided yet.
