One person was hospitalized Friday following a house fire in Winnipeg’s Tyndall Park neighbourhood.
Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews were called to a home in the 100 block of Kinver Avenue near Keewatin Street at 4:50 p.m.
Firefighters initially launched a defensive attack before switching to an offensive strike. The blaze was declared under control at 8:10 p.m.
Paramedics treated one person at the scene and took them to hospital in unstable condition. Other displaced residents received temporary support from the city’s emergency social services team.
“No damage estimates are available, but the home sustained significant damage from fire, smoke, and water,” the City of Winnipeg said in a news release.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
