2021 Federal Election

Dan Vandal of the Liberals was re-elected for his third term in 2021. Vandal announced in 2024 that he would be retiring from politics.

History

The riding was created in 1924, and has primarily been a Liberal stronghold through its history. Shelly Glover has been the only Conservative MP to win re-election for a second term in its history.

The riding covers St. Boniface and two-thirds of St. Vital.

Demographics

The riding’s population in the 2021 census is 95,514, a 6.3 per cent increase from 2016. The riding also has a significant bilingual population, with 22 per cent speaking both English and French.
