Ted Falk won the riding with 48.7 per cent of the vote. He has represented the riding since 2013.
History
Provencher is one of the oldest ridings in Manitoba, one of the first four given to the province in 1871 when it joined Confederation. It is the riding where Louis Riel was elected to the House of Commons as an independent.
The party has alternated support throughout its history, but since 2000, has been a right-wing stronghold with the Alliance and the Conservative Party representing the region.
Boundaries
The riding covers southeast Manitoba and includes Steinbach, La Broquerie, Niverville and Falcon Lake.
Demographics
The riding has a population of 109,445 people per the 2021 Census, up from 99,946 reported in 2016. Niverville was the fastest growing Manitoba community according to the 2021 Census, growing its population by 29 per cent from the 2016 Census.
