Manitoba weather: Wet start to May

Time will tell if May showers will bring June flowers, but southwestern Manitoba is wasting no time, with showers moving into the region on this first day of the month.

Showers will continue into Thursday evening.

Cloudy skies over Winnipeg and the southeast during the day on Wednesday will partially clear out tonight.

Overnight temperatures across the south will drop close to freezing, or below it, including in Dauphin and Swan River.

After snow Thursday morning and rain in the afternoon, the sky will clear in The Pas overnight.

Clouds will clear out of many other northern areas, too.

On the other hand, clouds will build up overnight in Brochet. Temperatures will climb there, too, forecast to rise to around 0 C by Friday morning.

Friday will be a pleasant spring day for southern regions, with sunshine or a mix of sun and clouds with afternoon highs in the low to mid-teens.

Then brace yourself for temperatures to spike into the mid-20s across the south this weekend, with sunshine also forecast both days.

May is only getting started, but this weekend will feel like July or August.
