By mid-November standards, weather conditions this Remembrance Day Tuesday and for the rest of this week will be pleasantly mild across Manitoba.

The normal daytime high for Winnipeg for this time of year is -1 C, but temperatures will soar well above the freezing mark this week, peaking Friday with a forecast high of 10 C.

On this Remembrance Day afternoon, southern regions, including Winnipeg, will see a mix of sun and cloud with afternoon temperatures between 4 C and 8 C. It will be a windy day and night ahead, though, with gusting winds from the northwest.

A warm front over eastern Manitoba is mainly to thank for today’s mild conditions. Environment and Climate Change Canada says areas ahead of the front will see showers in the south and flurries or light snow in the north.

The sky will be mostly clear overnight Tuesday across the south, with temperatures dropping below freezing.

With the exception of Flin Flon and The Pas, the north will remain cloudy tonight. Light snow or flurries will likely continue in the northeast.

Wednesday through Saturday will see sunshine or a mix of sun and cloud in Winnipeg.

By Grey Cup Sunday, temperatures will be closer to normal for the championship matchup at Princess Auto Stadium, with an afternoon high temperature expected around 0 C in the sunshine.
