A new headliner will take the stage at a new country music festival in Winnipeg this summer.

Riley Green is the new headliner for Country Thunder at Princess Auto Stadium on July 10. Green is replacing Jason Aldean, who was originally announced for the event.

True North Sports and Entertainment said a scheduling conflict with Aldean prompted the change.

Aldean is still listed as a headliner for Country Thunder in Craven, Sask. the day after the Winnipeg concert.

Green is known for his songs “I Wish Grandpas Never Died,” “There Was This Girl” and “Worst Way.” He won an Academy of Country Music Award for new male artist of the year in 2019. He also recently won a Country Music Association Award for musical event of the year for his duet with Ella Langley, “You Look Like You Love Me.”

Country Thunder is the second of two concerts for the Thunder Concert Series at Princess Auto Stadium. Rockin’ Thunder, headlined by Def Leppard, Foreigner and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, runs July 9.

Tickets for both concerts are on sale now.
