‘Unbelievable’: Missing cat returned after 7 years

The Windsor-Essex County Humane Society has reunited a missing cat with his owner after seven years.

The shelter posted about the success story on social media on Sunday, saying Julio turned up after seven years and four months (2675 days) of being missing.

“Despite his owner having responsibly microchipped him, this elusive boy somehow managed to avoid being caught. But just this past weekend, he turned up at the shelter, and his mom was contacted upon his microchip being scanned,” said the post.

The cat mom was happy to have him home.

“He went missing end of November 2017,” she said in the post. “After an exhausting search and many notices to the public, I had given up hope. Hearing that he was alive and found yesterday was unbelievable! I am still in shock.”

She said he is settling into his old home.

“He has been so happy to be cuddled and listening to relaxing cat music.”

She thanked the humane society and the ‘kind soul’ who brought him in.

“Proof that we should never give up hope,” she said.
