SIU investigating crash involving cruiser and a cyclist

The Special Investigations Unit is investigating a collision between a cyclist and a police cruiser.

The Ontario Special Investigations Unit is investigating a collision involving a Windsor police cruiser and a cyclist.

The report says the incident took place at the intersection of Glengarry Avenue and Assumption Street at 1:38 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, when an officer was going to a call for service.

The SIU says a 46-year-old male cyclist was taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Three investigators, one forensic investigator and one collision reconstructionist have been assigned to the case.
