Windsor police and city bylaw enforcement officers oversaw a cleanup on private property at 0 Salter Avenue on Monday, following non-compliance with a work order issued on March 14.
The clean up is a continuation of efforts that began on March 21, when the city removed hazards from the site to address public safety concerns. The property, which includes an active homeless encampment, remains occupied, but officials confirmed that bylaw enforcement is not removing any structures or individuals.
City officials said the focus of this cleanup is to remove garbage and debris to bring the property up to standard. All cleanup costs and associated penalties will be added to the property owner’s taxes.
