PHOTOS: Humane Society opens its doors for open house

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society opened its doors to the public on Saturday.

Throughout the day, its first open house allowed pet owners and prospective owners to learn more about their work, engage in teaching lessons, and even let their furry friends get their nails clipped.

For the Humane Society, Lynette Bain, the executive director, said the open house served as an opportunity to show the “hope” they provide for many types of animals.

Of course, the event included opportunities to meet with the many pets looking for forever homes, or even temporary stays with a foster family.
