Local fitness entrepreneur, Jaclyn Cordeiro, has donated $40,800 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex (BBBSWE) on Friday.
Cordeiro, the founder of Jac-Fit, raised the money at the second annual Women Supporting Women Summit. It will be put towards BBBSWE’s “Go Girl, Go Squad” program.
“About 300 children and youth will benefit directly from that $40,800 donation,” said Becky Parent, BBBSWE’s executive director.
“Last year, we served 917 children and youth in Windsor-Essex and the little-known thing that people don’t realize about Big Brothers Big Sisters is that all of the dollars have been raised locally. We do not receive any support outside of our local community and it’s really important.”
The Women Supporting Women Summit saw more than 300 local women for a night of empowerment, held on International Women’s Day.
