The Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) has issued a flood watch for Essex.
Due to a storm earlier in the week, an already saturated ground, and more rain projected Friday night and into Saturday, the area is at an increased risk of flooding.
Flooding of the Ruscom River in Lakeshore has subsided, but water levels in the river are still high. Another potential 25 millimetres of rain, depending on location, is possible Friday night.
Ruscom River and Lakeshore Road 241 could experience flooding again.
You are encouraged to be extra cautious around rivers, streams, and shorelines during significant weather events. Slippery banks and fast-moving water can be dangerous.
This advisory will be in effect until Sunday at noon.
