Firefighter injured in fatal south Windsor blaze

A firefighter suffered a hand injury while fighting a blaze that left one dead in south Windsor Wednesday morning.

Crews were called to the scene at a home on Askin Avenue near Beals Street before 7 a.m. for the fire.

According to Windsor fire, a ladder was used as crews went into defensive attack.

The lone occupant of the home was found dead. The injured firefighter was taken to hospital with burns to his hand.

The Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.
