Chatham man arrested in drug-related search: CKPS

The Chatham-Kent Police Service has arrested one man in connection to a search warrant.

On Wednesday, a traffic stop was conducted on King Street in Chatham while the Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a home on Gray Street. The search was done in connection to an ongoing drug investigation.

During the traffic stop, a 48-year-old Chatham man was arrested for possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.

Seized from the accused’s possession was 49 grams of suspected fentanyl, 9.2 grams of cocaine, and Canadian cash.

The search of the home resulted in digital scales, packaging material, and a small amount of fentanyl.

The accused has been charged with possession of fentanyl and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
