Mounties are investigating after a woman was found dead near a waterfront trail in Nanaimo, B.C.
Investigators say the woman’s body was discovered Monday near the Jack Point trail, just south of the BC Ferries terminal at Duke Point.
Firefighters and paramedics attempted to resuscitate the woman before she was pronounced dead at the scene, the Nanaimo RCMP said in a statement Wednesday.
Police do not believe the woman met with foul play, but investigators are still trying to piece together the circumstances that led to her death.
The woman was found wearing a black, puffy parka, black leggings and black boots, the statement said.
Anyone who recognizes the description, or who has video from the area taken between 11 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. on Monday is asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
