Stabbing victim in critical condition, suspect at large in northern B.C.

Mounties in northern British Columbia are searching for a suspect after a stabbing earlier this week left a man in critical condition.

The Quesnel RCMP say officers were called to the scene of an altercation in the 600 block of Front Street shortly after 6 p.m. on Nov. 10.

A 34-year-old man was found suffering from a stab wound and was taken to hospital in critical condition, police said in a news release Thursday.

Investigators say a 42-year-old man is considered a suspect and is being actively sought in the investigation.

“The victim and suspect were known to each other,” Sgt. Clay Kronebusch said in a statement.

Police did not identify the suspect by name but asked anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Quesnel RCMP detachment.
