Minor injuries have been reported after a police SUV collided with another car in downtown Vancouver Sunday afternoon.
The incident unfolded after a motorist crossed three lanes of one-way traffic in an attempt to exit Granville Street’s east lane, resulting in a crash with an oncoming police vehicle, the Vancouver Police Department said in a statement Monday.
The police officer was injured and taken to the hospital for “precautionary reasons,” while the occupants of the second car sustained only minor injuries, said police.
The driver was given a ticket for failing to yield to traffic while exiting a laneway.
