Mounties seize weapons, fentanyl from suspected B.C. drug lab

Several kilograms of suspected fentanyl were seized when investigators with the federal RCMP’s illicit drug lab squad raided three properties in Metro Vancouver, the agency announced Wednesday.

The property searches were executed by the RCMP’s Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response (CLEAR) Team on Sept. 14.

A statement from the agency says eight handguns and five long-barreled rifles—including a .50 calibre rifle—were seized from two properties in Surrey, including one property that allegedly housed a synthetic drug lab.

Hundreds of rounds of ammunition, 14 kilograms of fentanyl and more than 200 litres of chemical precursors used for the manufacture of the drug GHB were also found, police said.

A simultaneous search of a home in Richmond turned up additional drugs, along with $86,000 in cash, according to investigators.
