1 hospitalized after crash on Highway 1 in Chilliwack

One person was taken to hospital after a crash on Highway 1 in Chilliwack during the Monday afternoon rush hour.

Paramedics were called to the scene near the Yale Road overpass just after 4:30 p.m., according to B.C. Emergency Health Services.

“One ambulance with primary care paramedics and one ambulance with advanced care paramedics responded to the scene. Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to hospital in stable condition,” a spokesperson said in an email.

BCEHS does not confirm fatalities.

CTV News has contacted the RCMP for information about the crash, and this story will be updated if a response is received.

The westbound lanes of the highway were closed for about an hour and a half while first responders were on scene.
