Two people were arrested in Vancouver’s West End Saturday evening after fleeing a traffic stop in a stolen car, according to police.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Denman and Nelson streets, a spokesperson for the Vancouver Police Department told CTV news in an email.
The suspects – who are 18 and 19 years old – allegedly fled and crashed into two cars. One of those cars was occupied, but “there are no life-threatening injuries,” according to the VPD.
The suspects were arrested three blocks away and found to be armed with handguns, police said. One was tasered before being taken into custody and both “received medical attention,” according to authorities.
The investigation is ongoing, and police said they “anticipate multiple criminal charges.”
