Toronto's very own Drake strategically placed a mountain of bright blue ice blocks right in the downtown core, with details of his much-anticipated album's release date buried deep inside.

Giant blocks of blue ice in downtown Toronto Toronto's very own Drake placed this mountain of ice in a downtown Toronto parking lot on Monday to promote his upcoming album, fittingly called 'Iceman.' The project's release date is expected to be revealed once it has completely melted. (CP24)
At least a couple of days CP24 Meteorologist Bill Coulter said fans won't have to wait too long due to the city's warm forecast this week.
"In the next couple days, as get up to the mid-upper teens, if the sun is beaming down, you are going to see some significant melt," he said. (CP24)
Police called down on Monday for crowd control Three different police divisions were called to do crowd control at the Dundas and Bond streets area, according to Toronto police. By around 12:30 a.m., police say as many as 800 fans flocked to the area to look at the ice sculpture. (CP24)
Ice structure roughly six-metres high Several methods were used in an effort to chip away at the blue ice in downtown Toronto, including a pick axe. (Chopper 24)

No injuries reported Though hundreds flocked to the structure overnight Monday, police said no injuries were reported. The crowd dispersed but by Tuesday morning, fans trickled in to take a glimipse of the blue ice. (CP24)

Fans eager for 'Iceman' release "Everyone has been waiting for so long. This is going to be his first solo album in a long time. It has been probably like 924 days since he had a solo album, so this will be one of the biggest albums of the year once it comes out," one fan told CP24. (CP24)
Latest in series of stunts The structure is barely the tip of the iceberg in Drake's near-guerrilla-style promotion for his upcoming project. Earlier this month, residents near Downsview Park could hear an explosion and see bright balls of light shooting into the night sky, which the city confirmed was connected to the rapper. Many speculated online the explosion is part of an upcoming music video for Drake's much-anticipated album. (CP24)
Downsview Park explosions connected to Drake Downsview Park management apologized to nearby residents following the explosion, admitting that their advance notifications about the filming may not have reached all. Coun. James Pasternak, who oversees the area, told CP24 his office heard numerous complaints from constituents. (Chopper 24)
