2 suspects wanted after allegedly robbing elderly woman in Stoney Creek parking lot

Police say they’re searching for two suspects after an elderly woman was robbed as she was loading groceries in a parking lot in Stoney Creek, Ont., earlier this month.

Hamilton Police say they were called to the area of Queenston and Nash roads on Dec. 8, after hearing a report of a distraction-style jewelry theft.

Officers say a male and a female approached the 89-year-old woman in a newer-model, black Mazda SUV.

The pair spoke with the senior and asked her about her ethnicity, police said, before taking turns placing jewelry on her and even leaning in for a hug.

It wasn’t until the victim arrived home that police said she realized her own jewelry had been removed.
