Paramedics transported a woman to a trauma centre after she was hit by a truck in East York Thursday afternoon.

A woman is in life-threatening condition after being hit by a truck in East York this afternoon.

In a social media post, police say the collision occurred just before 2 p.m. in the area of Mortimer and Pape avenues.

Toronto paramedics say she has been taken to a trauma centre with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Police say the driver of the truck remained on the scene.

Mortimer Avenue is closed between Pape and Woodycrest avenues while the investigation continues.
