Toronto police looking to identify person found dead in The Annex

Toronto police are looking to identify a person who was found dead in the city’s Annex neighbourhood earlier this year.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Spadina Road and Bloor Street West on the afternoon of April 29 after a deceased person was located near the subway station, police said in a news release issued Wednesday.

The cause of death was not released by police, but the coroner has deemed it to be not suspicious.

Now, investigators are asking the public for help in identifying them.

They are described as 40 to 55 years old, 158 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. They were wearing a black and white t-shirt with a Nike Air Max logo on the front, grey pants, grey Crocs, and a beaded bracelet that reads “You Belong.” Two black purses, neither of which contained ID, were also located.

Police published an artist rendering of the deceased, which was released on Wednesday.

Investigators believe that the unidentified individual may have ties to London, Ont., but didn’t specify how they came to that conclusion.
