18-year-old fatally shot during exchange of gunfire in downtown Toronto identified

Toronto police say an 18-year-old male was killed in a shooting in Toronto’s King West neighbourhood early Tuesday morning, in which the accused was also shot.

Police had said gunfire erupted on the sidewalk near King Street West and Spadina Avenue at around 4:45 a.m.

Officers had received several 911 calls reporting that multiple shots had been fired in the area and when officers arrived on scene, they found a man suffering from “at least one gunshot wound.”

Police said that man was transported to the hospital by paramedics.

Investigators have now said he shot and killed another person at the same time.

As a result, police arrested and charged Frandy Noel, 27, of Toronto, with second-degree murder. The charges have not been tested in court.

Police allege that Noel was approached by a group of males who discharged guns at him, resulting in him being struck by gunfire.

Noel then shot his own gun and hit one of the males in the group, according to police.

Investigators said a short time after Noel was brought to the hospital, the male he shot was dropped off at a hospital and was pronounced dead.

Police have identified the victim as 18-year-old Dylan Adams, of Toronto.

They have confirmed to CP24 that Adams is “the same person who was dropped off at a hospital in 31 Division yesterday morning.”

He is Toronto’s 37th homicide of 2025.

Noel was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Wednesday morning.
