A 22-year-old woman faces assault and mischief charges following an alleged attempted carjacking outside Saskatoon’s Royal University Hospital on Thursday.
In a news release Friday, the Saskatoon Police Service said patrol officers were called to the hospital around 9 a.m. for an attempted robbery. When they arrived, officers found a woman detained by security guards.
The suspect reportedly approached a man and woman as they were entering their truck in the hospital parking lot and tried to enter the vehicle by removing the man from the driver’s seat.
Police say the man forced her out of the truck, and she tried a second time to get inside before he drove away. She was later detained by hospital security.
The woman, 22, faces charges including two counts of assault, mischief and obstruction.
