Two Saskatoon men face charges after allegedly assaulting a man on a downtown sidewalk on Friday.

Police say a 31-year-old man was sitting on the ground outside Midtown mall when three people approached him and took turns hitting him before fleeing on a city bus.

Officers were called to the scene around 11 a.m. Friday and found the victim on the sidewalk suffering from what police described as non-life-threatening injuries. Paramedics took him to hospital for treatment.

Patrol officers tracked down the bus they believe the suspects boarded and conducted a traffic stop at 22nd Street West and Avenue D.

Two men, 29 and 32, were arrested off the bus. The third suspect is still at large, police said.
