Riders ink U of S Huskies star, U SPORTS Defensive Player of the Year

U of S Huskies Linebacker Seth Hundeby signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

A standout from the University of Saskatchewan has signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The reigning Grey Cup champions have signed linebacker and 2025 CFL draft pick Seth Hundeby to a contract.

The fifth-year football star joins the Riders after a senior season capped off by winning the 2025 U SPORTS Presidents Trophy as the most outstanding defensive player in the country.

He was also named to the U SPORTS first team all-Canadian roster for the second consecutive season.

His six tackles for loss ranked first in Canada West, and he was the only player in the conference to generate five turnovers.

Hundeby, who was selected by the Riders in the fourth round of the 2025 CFL draft, recently wrapped up his Huskies career with a Vanier Cup loss against the Montreal Carabins.

Prior to joining the Huskies he played for Holy Cross High School in Saskatoon.
