Motorist killed in highway crash near Prince Albert

One person is dead and a second is in hospital with serious injuries following a highway crash south of Prince Albert on Nov. 25.

Emergency crews were called to a three vehicle collision on Highway 3 south near Davis Road around 6 p.m. Tuesday. Paramedics arrived to find one person dead.

He’s been identified as a 67-year-old man from Prince Albert. His family has been notified.

A 42-year-old man was taken by ambulance to hospital with serious injuries.

About a half-hour later, Parkland Ambulance paramedics were called to a second collision on Highway 3 south, near the initial fatal collision. There were no injuries.

Parkland Ambulance says it’s unknown if the second collision happened while vehicles were moving around the first incident.

“It’s very important for the public to slow to 60 km/h when passing any emergency vehicle stopped at the side of the road,” Parkland Ambulance said in a release Wednesday morning.

“Always follow the instructions of those who may be at the scene directing traffic.”

This is the 12th fatal motor vehicle collision in Saskatchewan so far this month.
