One injured after alleged stabbing in downtown Regina

WATCH: A woman is facing aggravated assault charges after an alleged stabbing in downtown Regina on Thursday afternoon.

Regina police say one person was taken to hospital after an altercation led to an apparent stabbing in the downtown area on Thursday.

Shortly after 4 p.m. officers were called to the 2100 block of Saskatchewan Drive for the report that someone was stabbed with what appeared to be a knife during an altercation, a Regina police news release said.

Police and EMS arrived at the scene and found one person who was taken to hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

A 22-year-old suspect was arrested on the 1800 block of Scarth Street and has been charged with aggravated assault and failing to comply with the conditions of a release order, police said.

The accused made their first court appearance Friday afternoon.
