A 38-year-old man is facing various weapons charges after a gun was recovered in a traffic stop Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred on the 600 block of Retallack Street, according to the Regina Police Service (RPS).
According to officers at the scene, there were five people inside the vehicle when it was stopped. Further investigation led to the discovery of a loaded handgun inside the vehicle.
As a result, RPS charged the 38-year-old suspect with a total of eight counts – seven of which were weapons related. The remaining charge was for resisting arrest.
The accused made his first appearance in provincial court Tuesday afternoon.
