Fatal crash near Swift Current claims lives of two from Alberta

Saskatchewan RCMP are investigating after two people from Alberta were killed in a single vehicle rollover near Swift Current.

On April 4, at approximately 5:35 p.m., Swift Current RCMP received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Highway 1, west of the community.

Police, local firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene. A woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was declared dead at the scene.

She was identified as a 61-year-old woman from Redcliff, Alta.

The driver and a second passenger were taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature.

The second passenger later died in hospital.

He was identified as a 68-year-old man, also from Redcliff, Alta. Both victims’ families have been notified.

Swift Current RCMP continue to investigate with the help of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
