Paramedics transported a woman to hospital after a single-vehicle crash in Ottawa’s rural south end on Sunday afternoon.
Ottawa Fire Services say they received a call from Ottawa police with reports of a vehicle striking a hydro pole on Manotick Station Road and Pebblewoods Drive in the community of Greely at approximately 5 p.m.
On arrival, firefighters found a person was trapped inside with a hydro pole laying across the vehicle, according to Ottawa fire.
Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and extricated the person in about two minutes.
Ottawa paramedics say they transported an adult female to hospital in stable condition. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Firefighters disconnected the car batteries prior to leaving the scene.
The crash comes during a busy weekend for emergency services after an ice storm brought slick roads and dangerous driving conditions across eastern Ontario. On Saturday, police responded to dozens of crashes on roads and highways across the region.
Ottawa firefighters also pulled out a driver who drove their vehicle into a ditch on Snake Island Road on Saturday evening.
