Ottawa man’s 2019 disappearance deemed a homicide; $75,000 reward for information offered

Police are treating the 2019 disappearance of an Ottawa man as a homicide and are offering a large reward for information. CTV’s Dylan Dyson reports.

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is investigating the 2019 disappearance of an Ottawa man as a homicide and is offering a $75,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Corey Baldwin, who lived in Greely, was last seen in April 2019. He would be 48 years old today.

According to a news release issued Wednesday, Baldwin was last known to be in the Montreal area in April 2019. He was reported missing to Ottawa police that December. Since then, police have issued several appeals for information about his whereabouts.

On Wednesday, police said evidence gathered to date leads investigators to believe Baldwin was murdered.

“His remains have not been recovered, and for investigative reasons, the OPS cannot release further details about how this conclusion was reached,” a news release said.

Police believe Baldwin might have travelled to B.C. shortly before he was reported missing. Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who might have seen him in either Montreal or B.C. in 2019.

“Corey’s family, including his two daughters, have waited years for answers,” police said. “The OPS is committed to finding those responsible and bringing closure to his loved ones.”

Baldwin was previously described by police as a white man, 5’10”, and around 230 lbs, with a muscular build, grey and blue eyes, a shaved head and dirty blond/grey facial hair and with multiple tattoos on his arms, back, and legs.
