Motorists will have to navigate highway off-ramp closures to visit Westboro, Hintonburg and neighbourhoods near the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus this summer.
Coun. Jeff Leiper is warning constituents of some “big 417 ramp closures upcoming this summer” as crews continue with the noise wall replacement along Highway 417.
The westbound off-ramp at Island Park Drive and the westbound Parkdale Avenue on-ramp will be closed between April 15 and Oct. 2. The eastbound Parkdale Avenue off-ramp on Hwy. 417 will be closed between May 25 and Aug. 24.
According to a notice, the westbound on-ramp to Hwy. 417 from O’Connor Street will also be closed at some point in 2025. The detour map shows motorists will have to continue west on Catherine Street and enter Hwy. 417 at the Bronson Avenue on-ramp.
The Highway 417 eastbound on and off-ramps at Parkdale Avenue were closed last summer for construction work.
Last year’s closures were to facilitate the replacement of retaining and noise barrier walls, as well as O-Train construction work.
