Ontario Provincial Police say an “aggressive panhandler” is facing charges after kicking a vehicle when the driver refused to give money on an off-ramp in Ottawa’s east end.
Police responded to a call Sunday at the Vanier Parkway off-ramp along Highway 417.
Police say the individual kicked a car after the driver refused to give money. A second driver called 9-1-1 after witnessing the incident, according to police.
The individual is facing charges of mischief under $5,000, soliciting in an aggressive manner and soliciting a person in a vehicle on the roadway.
“A reminder that it is illegal to walk on any 400 series highway in Ontario, including the on and off-ramps,” police say.
