Ontario Provincial Police say a driver is facing an impaired driving charge after a single vehicle crash on the weekend in Whitewater Region.

Officers were called to an area of Hayley Road near Highway 17 at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday on reports of a car in a ditch.

The car was partially submerged when officers arrived.

The driver was not hurt, but police said 37-year-old from Otter Lake, Que. is now charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit.

The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle—after being removed from the ditch—was impounded for seven days.
