Barrhaven homicide leaves 1 dead, police investigating

The Ottawa Police Service says one person has died following a homicide that happened Friday night in Barrhaven.

Police say they received a call around 8:10 p.m. to an area on Longfields Drive. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a person with life-threatening injuries. Police say they “succumbed to their injuries shortly thereafter.”

Officers have arrested a man in relation to this incident.

There is no risk to public safety, police add.

They remain at scene, as the investigation continues.

Police were seen in a house located at 224 Longfields Dr. Saturday morning. Police tape could be seen in the house but not outside.
