Gatineau police have arrested a 20-year-old man following an investigation into child luring and child pornography.
Police said Wednesday that officers searched a home on rue Sainte-Rose on March 19 and arrested one person.
Police allege the suspect would converse with minors via social media, posing as either a man or a woman, and request intimate images. The accused then allegedly told the victims he would release the images if his demands weren’t met.
Police believe there could be other victims and are asking anyone with information to come forward and call Gatineau police at 819-243-4636, ext. 5.
Matthew Guzman, 20, is charged with extortion, possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography and child luring. He remains in custody.
