2 men facing attempted murder charges in connection to 2023 assault in Hawkesbury area

Two Ottawa men are facing a charge of attempted murder in connection to an incident in the Hawkesbury area two years ago, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.

Police say officers responded to a serious assault at a home on Plantagenet Concession Road 9 in Alfred-Plantagenet Township on Jan. 23, 2023.

A 37-year-old man was transported to hospital with serious injuries. Police say the victim has since recovered from his injuries.

On Thursday, the OPP announced two men were arrested following an investigation by the Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit.

A 37-year-old man and a 39-year-old man, both from Ottawa, are facing a charge of attempted murder. The accused are scheduled to appear in court in L’Orignal on Thursday for a bail hearing.
