Weather closes Highway 144 from Timmins to Cartier

The weather is getting bad in parts of the northeast. As a result, provincial police shut down part of Highway 144–there is also a closure on Highway 101.

Deteriorating weather conditions have closed a section of Highway 144, Ontario Provincial Police said in a social media post.

The roadway is closed between Highway 101 in Cartier to Highway 560.

“Be mindful that it is an offence under the Highway Traffic Act to drive on a closed highway,” said police on X.
