Sudbury police say they have six suspects in custody in what they are calling a targeted home invasion involving a shooting early Thursday morning.
Officers were called to the townhome on Lasalle Boulevard in the New Sudbury area near Auger Avenue around 2 a.m., Greater Sudbury Police Service said in a news release.

“The homeowner sustained minor injuries following a brief physical altercation, including a non-life-threatening wound from a gunshot,” police said.
“Upon arrival, patrol officers observed three males fleeing the scene on foot.”
One suspect was seen getting into a waiting vehicle with a man and woman, both 37.
“Police were able to quickly contain the suspect vehicle and arrest all three individuals without incident,” police said.
“A search of the vehicle revealed illicit drugs and a firearm.”

The other two suspects were found during a search by the emergency response and canine units.
“One suspect was located and arrested without incident in an unoccupied commercial vehicle at a business nearby on Lasalle Boulevard, where a firearm and illicit drugs were recovered,” police said.
“The third suspect was found and arrested without incident at a separate nearby business on Lasalle Boulevard, also found to be in possession of illicit drugs.”
A fourth suspect was identified and turned themselves in at police headquarters around 8:30 a.m., police said.
Three of the four people accused in the home invasion are teens from southern Ontario – two 16-year-olds and an 18-year-old.
The fourth suspect is a 24-year-old from Greater Sudbury.
All four have been charged with attempted murder, breaking and entering, using a disguise with intent, drug trafficking cocaine and fentanyl and “numerous firearms-related charges.”
The two adults found in the getaway vehicle are charged with being accessories after the fact and drug trafficking cocaine and fentanyl.
The man is also charged with breach of probation.
“In total, 200 grams of cocaine and 100 grams of fentanyl were seized, for an estimated street value of $30,000,” police spokesperson Sarah Kaelas said in an email.
Police are also in the process of getting search warrants for two homes in the city.
“Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact police at 705-675-9171 or Sudbury Crime Stoppers at 705-222-8477,” police said.
