Sault police seek help with credit card fraud investigation

Police in Sault Ste. Marie are looking for help following an incident of credit card fraud at a business on Second Line East earlier this year.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is seeking public assistance in identifying suspects involved in a credit card fraud case that allegedly defrauded a local business of more than $17,000.

Authorities say the incident occurred between Jan. 6 and Feb. 6, 2025, when a suspect ordered $17,350 worth of items over the phone using a fraudulent credit card. A second suspect then picked up the purchases on Jan. 8 and Feb. 10 from a business in the 0-100 block of Second Line East.

Detectives said their investigation began on March 17, in a news release Friday.
